Class Descriptions

I will consult with all students to create a class based upon their needs.  This may include combining different styles to make the most of our time together.

YOGA FOR PEOPLE WHO DON’T DO YOGA
Introductory class designed for people who have never taken a yoga class but would like to explore the possibility.  This is a very beginner class.

RESTORATIVE YOGA
The goal of restorative yoga is total body and mind relaxation. In this style, we will use many props to create a completely stress-free and relaxing environment.  Poses are usually held for 15- 20 minutes.

YIN YOGA
Yin Yoga is a slow, deep practice designed to take your body to the edge, affecting the deep connective tissues and fascia.  This deeper hold may help to increase flexibility and increase circulation. Poses are held for 3-10 minutes.

VINYASSA YOGA
This style of yoga moves you through posture to posture or pose to pose in a “flow.”  Vinyassa yoga can include creating holds in a posture or pairing movement with breath. Pace can vary from class to class.

YOGA NIDRA
Mindfulness guided meditation. Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep. This practice uses breathing and guided imagery to bring you into a state of relaxation which will leave you rejuvenated and refreshed.  A session can fit into any time frame from 15 minutes to one hour.

CHAIR YOGA
Just what it sounds like, chair yoga brings you through a series of yoga poses while sitting in a chair. This style of yoga is a wonderful way for someone whose individual needs may not allow them to stand or get on the floor to enjoy the benefits of yoga.

POWER YOGA
For people who want to add a little extra cardio into their yoga practice.  Power yoga is fast paced with more challenging poses.
